Canine mastectomy
Scottish Shepherd Dog (details)

When dogs have breast tumors, breast necrosis, and severe trauma, we need to perform breast resection for it. If it is not treated in time, it may threaten the dog's life.

1. Local anatomy: The breast is located on both sides of the chest and the bottom of the abdomen. The left and right breasts are separated by the middle line of the abdomen. There are 4-5 breasts on each side of the breast, and it is named from the front to the back of the chest, the rear chest, the anterior abdomen, the rear abdomen and groin milk. The front chest and rear chest milk accepts blood supply to the thoracic arteries, the intercostal artery, and the mothing arteries. Out -abdomen milk accepts blood supply to the anterior abdominal artery, and the posterior abdominal milk and groin are accepted by the abdomen and groin to accept the abdominal arteries. The drainage lymph nodes of the first two breasts are the axillary lymph nodes on the same side, and the last three breast sides are drained to the inguinal lymph nodes on the same side. The breast lymph nodes on both sides of the abdomen are not directly connected.

2. Equipment: Generally, soft tissue is cut, stops bleeding, and stitches equipment.

3. Baoding and anesthesia: lying on the back of Baoding, the limbs are fully abducted throughout the body anesthesia.

4. Instrument: Take the full -length resection on one side as an example. On the inner and outer side of the breast, make a long oval incision from the chest to the vulva. The lateral incision of the breast and the edge of the breast tissue is bounded, and the inner incision is based on the middle line of the abdomen. Use tissue pliers to pinch the breast skin, and separate the breasts from the front to the back. The first two breasts are linked to the pectoral muscles and its fascia, which is not easy to peel off. The latter three breasts are loose and easy to peel off. Pay attention to stop bleeding during the peeling process. After peeling the breasts, the bare chest muscles and fascia are covered with a wet gauze after peeling the front breasts. Then remove the groin lymph nodes and axillary lymph nodes. Check the wound carefully to ensure unpaid breast tissue. Routine stitching the skin and bandaging abdomen bandages.

5. Postoperative care: The application of antibiotics in the whole body for 4-6 days. Keep local drying and prevent bite.
