Dog
The toxins of raisins are an unknown complex contained in the "meat" part of the grapes. There is no toxic in grape seed extract. An unknown toxin in grapes and raisins may destroy dog's kidneys, and whether cats will have a poisonous situation.
Many dogs like to eat raisins and grapes, but it is recommended not to give the dogs to eat raisins and grapes as much as possible. It is usually necessary to put grapes and raisins in places where dogs and cats cannot reach to prevent them from stealing poisoning. Many people put the grapes on the table, and as a result, all the dogs were eaten by the dog, which caused a poisoning phenomenon.
1. Poisonous dosage
According to reports, the range of grapes causes the poisonous dose of about 0.32-0.65 oz/kg, which means that dogs per 20 pounds of grapes are eaten only 3.2 ounces of grapes per 20 pounds of grapes. It will cause poisoning. Studies believe that the poisoning dose of raisins can be minimized to 0.1 OZ/KG, and about 20 pounds of dogs eat 10-12 grapes. The toxin concentration of raisins is about 4.5 times the same weight raw grapes.
Second, the pathogenic mechanism
The cause of how toxins cause renal failure are not clear. Among them, ascetic toxins, flavonoids, tannins, polyphenols, and monosaccharides that may cause toxicity.
3. Symptoms
1-3 hours after eating grapes or raisins may occur, no appetite, severe abdominal pain and diarrhea. Other symptoms include weakness, trembling, mouth mouth, mouth Waves dehydrated. Some grapes or glucose are found in animal vomit or excreta. As the situation of poisoning is becoming more and more serious, symptoms such as the inhibitory of the central nervous system and the decrease in urine output occur.
Fourth, diagnosis
Diagnosis is based on the history of animals (whether it is possible to eat grapes or raisins), or find grapes in the vomit or excreta of animals and renal renal failure. Symptoms.
You can do blood tests, urine tests, and abdominal ultrasonic examinations for animals.
Five, Treatment
Even dogs without kidney problems should be actively treated, and the key to keeping animal life is to prevent kidney damage. Grapes and raisins should be treated with acute renal failure.
If animals have just eaten grapes (within 6 to 8 hours), veterinarians will vomit animals to try to remove grapes in the stomach. Eating active carbon for animals can help absorb toxins to prevent poisoning.
At first, a blood test was performed to determine the kidney function. After 48 hours, do it again to see if the kidney function is still normal. Even if the blood test is normal, you should do another blood test after 5-7 days to ensure that the kidney function is normal.
Poisonous animals should be hospitalized for infusion. It is recommended to hit the kidneys for 2 days to prevent kidney damage. If animals that have damaged kidneys need to be dripped until the blood test returns to normal level.
6. Prevention
Animal prevention of grape/raisins poisoning is different from the severity of the symptoms. If it is found in time and vomiting and eating active carbon before the symptoms appear, the prognosis is usually good. Once kidney failure appears, the prognosis is difficult to determine.
