Figure 1: Persian Longhair cat
Persian cats are called nobles among cats. They always face their owners in a pampered manner, as if the owners are not the masters, but obey their ministers.
I. Food Issues
1. Feeding too much
Figure 2: The cat eats too much and the body will not be well
Don't think that the more cats eat, the better. Some cats have always held an "all-you-can-eat" attitude towards food, and their goal is to finish all the food in the food bowl.
Countermeasures: For foodies who cannot control themselves well, the owner should not put too much food in the food bowl at one time, and it is best not to use the automatic feeder, because when the cat feels that it needs to stop
2. Food is not fresh
If cat food (especially wet food) is exposed to the air for too long, it is likely to spoil, and once eaten by cats, they will experience diarrhea.
Countermeasures:In order to ensure the freshness of the food, the owner should do a good job in the storage of the food.
3. Eating poisonous food
Cats can swallow anything they feel is reasonable, even some items that we think are not even food, they can swallow them.
Countermeasures:Poisonous food rarely occurs in ordinary households, so the owner only needs to keep the pesticides that may be toxic to cats at home.
Figure 3: Plants that are poisonous to cats
The plants in the picture from left to right are lily, narcissus, evergreen, hyacinth, green dill, and aloe vera. Cats will experience diarrhea or allergy symptoms after eating them.
4. Food lacks certain nutrients that cats need
For owners who cook for their cats, it is easy to lack the nutrients that cats need in the food. Once cats lack certain vitamins or trace elements, they will not only have diarrhea, but some cats will even have pica.
Countermeasures:In fact, even if cats only eat cat food, they will not have any malnutrition, because the nutrients contained in cat food can fully meet the needs of cats.
2. Disease problems
1. Intestinal parasites
The intestinal parasites that Persian cats are susceptible to are mainly roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, etc. After a cat is infected with parasites, there may be no obvious symptoms for a long time, but after a long time, the cat will become thin, and some cats will also
Remedy: The owner must deworm the cat regularly.

2. Gastroenteritis
There are many reasons for gastroenteritis in Persian cats, such as eating food just taken out of the refrigerator, and the temperature drop causing the cat to catch a cold.
Countermeasures:In the daily maintenance of cats, you should avoid giving cats cold food, and don't let them drink ice water directly even in summer.
3. Feline plague
Also known as feline infectious enteritis, feline panleukopenia.
Countermeasures:For similar infectious diseases such as feline plague, owners can prevent them by vaccination.

Figure 6: Prevention: The feline triple vaccine prevents three common diseases that are highly contagious and lethal - feline distemper (feline panleukopenia), feline calicivirus infection, and feline viral rhinotracheitis
Figure 7: Feline Distemper Virus (FPV) can quickly identify whether a cat is infected with Feline Distemper. A positive result indicates that the cat has been infected with Feline Distemper.
4. Tumor or other organ inflammation
When cats suffer from diseases such as tumors, hepatitis or pancreatitis, they can have aura with diarrhea, some cats have constant diarrhea, while others have diarrhea every few days.
Countermeasures:When the cat continues to have diarrhea for no reason or has diarrhea every few days, it is best for the owner to do a comprehensive physical examination immediately.
5. Birth defects
Many cats lack the enzyme that breaks down lactose in their bodies, and when they drink milk or eat other dairy products, they will have diarrhea.
Remedy:If cats have diarrhea for this reason, the owner can only pay more attention to their diet, do not give them milk, and do not let them eat any form of dairy products.
