Dog posture

In many breeds' standards, there will be descriptions of the posture of dogs' limbs, especially for some larger working dogs, whose structure and posture are greatly influenced by the acquired training and management. What exactly is a dog's posture? Posture refers to the direction of the limbs relative to the horizontal plane. The posture of the limbs of a dog has a great influence on the whole body structure. The limbs can provide a good base point, so that the weight pressure is evenly distributed at joints and paws. Usually, the ideal posture of the limbs is that the main axis of the limbs must be vertical to the ground. When it deviates, the pressure on a certain joint and sole will be too great. In this way, joints, tendons and ligaments will be fatigued prematurely during exercise, which will have a very adverse impact on the endurance and working ability of dogs. Therefore, the posture of limbs is not only related to theory and aesthetics, but more importantly, the consideration of working ability.

In order to adjust and keep the dogs' limbs in good condition, many kennels that professionally manage working dogs will build an activity area paved with gravel for them. This kind of gravel ground is not as simple as it looks. The thickness of the stones on the surface layer is about 1cm. There is a stone cushion layer of about 15cm under the stones on the surface layer, and a gravel layer of at least 25cm is laid under the stone cushion layer.

Basically, the ground laid by such a structure can absorb the pressure of exercise on the limbs well, increase the elasticity of the limbs, and at the same time help to keep the good shape of the soles of the feet.

Here, we just briefly introduce the basic structure and function of gravel playgrounds, because dog management is a very professional technical problem, so if you really need to know and use gravel playgrounds more deeply, you still need to learn and accumulate systematically.
